Oleksiy Kuleba

Childhood and family

Oleksiy Kuleba was born on August 8, 1983 in Kyiv. His parents are Volodymyr Kuleba, a Ukrainian diplomat, and Tetiana Kuleba, an economist. Oleksiy is married to Victoria Kuleba, a lawyer, and has two children: a son, Danylo, and a daughter, Yelyzaveta.

Education

In 2005, Oleksiy graduated with honors from Kyiv National Economic University with a degree in International Economics. Subsequently, he studied at the Postgraduate School of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, where he received a PhD in Public Administration.

Career

Oleksiy Kuleba started his career in 2005 as a lawyer in a private company. From 2007 to 2010, he served as an assistant to a member of the Ukrainian Parliament. In 2010, Oleksiy Kuleba was elected to the Rzhyshchiv City Council of Kyiv Oblast, where he headed the Commission on Law, Order and Anti-Corruption.

In 2014, Kuleba was appointed Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. Later, he served as the head of the Gostomel Village Council and the first deputy head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.

In 2022, after the outbreak of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba was appointed head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. In this position, he coordinated the defense of the Kyiv region, organized the evacuation of the population and provided assistance to the war victims.

On January 24, 2023, Oleksiy Kuleba was appointed Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. In this position, he is responsible for coordinating work on regional policy, decentralization of power and local self-government development.
