Vitaliy Koval

 

Good afternoon, dear readers! Today we would like to tell you about the biography of Vitaliy Koval, an entrepreneur, politician, and vice president of the Ukrainian Wrestling Association. This man was born on July 28, 1981 in the city of Berezne, Rivne region. He is currently the Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, a member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, and an honorary doctor of the Ostroh Academy. Childhood and family

Vitaliy Koval was born into a sporty family. His father, Stanislav Koval, is an honored coach of Ukraine in Greco-Roman wrestling. Vitaliy has been involved in this sport since childhood, as well as football and basketball. He graduated from school No. 1 in the city of Berezne, where he excelled in his studies and was actively involved in the school’s social life. He also participated in various contests and competitions in math, physics, history and other subjects.

Vitalii Koval is married to Koval Kseniia Valeriina (née Baraniuk). His wife is engaged in the design business. They met in their student days and got married in 2005. They have two daughters: Bohdana (born in 2007) and Zlata (born in 2010).

Koval lives in Kyiv but often visits his native Berezne. Vitaliy Koval enjoys spending time with his family, playing board games with his children, reading books and traveling. He also keeps in touch with his parents, brother and sister, who live in Rivne region.

Education

After graduating from high school, Vitaliy Koval entered the Ternopil Academy of National Economy, where he received a Master’s degree in Banking. Later, he continued his education at the Lviv Business School of the Ukrainian Catholic University, where he received a Master of Business Administration degree. In 2021, he also graduated from Aspen Institute Kyiv, where he received a certificate in leadership. He is fluent in English and Polish.

In 2001, he became a candidate for master of sports in Greco-Roman wrestling.

Career

Vitaliy Koval started his career in banking, where he worked in the credit department of Ukrgasbank in 2004-2006. In 2006, he moved to entrepreneurship and headed various companies in the agricultural, transportation and construction industries. In particular, he was a director of Probank Consult LLC, CEO of InvesttradeService LLC, Sanako LLC and BBB Montazhnya LLC. He was also involved in charity and contributed to the development of sports, education and culture in the region. In 2021, he founded the Vitaliy Koval Charitable Foundation, which helps children with disabilities.
In 2019, Vitaliy Koval decided to enter politics and ran for mayor of Rivne from the Servant of the People party. Although he did not win the election, he received an offer from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to head the Rivne Regional State Administration. Since September 9, 2019, he has been acting head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, and since February 24, 2022, he has been head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration. Under his leadership, Rivne region has become one of the leaders in terms of socio-economic development, investment attractiveness, energy efficiency, healthcare reform, education and decentralization.” On November 21, 2023, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Vitaliy Koval as the Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. This is a high responsibility, as the SPFU is engaged in the privatization of state-owned enterprises, which is important for modernizing the economy and attracting foreign investors. Vitaliy Koval said that his goal is to make privatization transparent, efficient and competitive, as well as to take into account the interests of employees, consumers and the state.

Achievements

Vitaliy Koval has many achievements in various fields of activity that set him apart from other politicians. Here are some of them:
He is a candidate for master of sports in Greco-Roman wrestling, the first vice president of the Ukrainian Wrestling Association and a member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
