Childhood.

Unfortunately, there is no information available about Andriy Matsola’s childhood. However, it is known that he was fond of boxing since childhood. Exhausting training taught him how to hold his own not only in the ring but also in business.

Family.

Andriy Matsola is married to Svitlana, with whom he has four sons: Volodymyr (born in 2006), Viktor (born in 2011), Stanislav (born in 2014) and Andriy (born in 2020). Andrii has a brother, Roman, with whom he took his first steps in business.

She has been actively involved in public activities, taking care of families who came to Lviv region to escape the fighting in the east. Svitlana helps these families to provide comfortable conditions, organize the educational process, and provides medical assistance when needed.

 

Education of Andriy Matsola

Andriy Matsola received his secondary education at the Lviv Financial and Credit College. He then continued his education at the Ternopil Academy of National Economy, where he received a master’s degree in International Economics in 2001.

In 2012, he entered the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy. He graduated in 2019 with a master’s degree in theology.

This path of education helped Andriy Matsola gain the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully develop his business. His education in international economics gave him a deep understanding of global economic processes, which helped him run a successful business internationally. Andriy Matsola began his career in 1998 when he founded the Olmar distribution company. In 2000, the company became the largest beer distributor in western Ukraine.

In 2002, he built an experimental brewery in Lviv called Halytskyi Brovar, which produced beer according to long-forgotten recipes.

In 2004, together with his family, he founded the First Private Brewery. In 2007, this brewery became a participant in the UKEEP energy efficiency program for small and medium-sized businesses and received the first investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – $17.6 million.

In 2012, the EBRD, together with the German concern Oettinger and the international group Oasis CIS, became the company’s shareholders.Since then, First Private Brewery has been operating two breweries in Lviv and Radomyshl with a total capacity of 2.3 million hectoliters of beer per year.

Andriy Matsola is the company’s largest shareholder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The First Private Brewery’s brands include Bochkove, Avtorske, StareMisto, Zhyhuli, Halytska Korona, and others, as well as Lvivskyi and Drevlyanskyi kvasses.

This successful career in business is a vivid example of patriotic entrepreneurship. Andriy Matsola managed to turn a local brewery into a national producer.

  • Support of Ukraine’s defenders: On November 15, 2016, the AXIOS Center for Practical Assistance to Ukraine’s Defenders was opened in Kyiv. The idea of establishing the Center came from former ATO participants, but it was brought to life thanks to the initiative and support of Andriy Matsola.

These achievements demonstrate his great contribution to the development of the brewing industry in Ukraine and his active social position.
