Volodymyr Zelenskyy was born into a family of engineers. His father, Oleksandr Zelenskyy, worked in the field of cybernetics, and his mother, Rimma Zelenska, in the field of automation. They were Ukrainian Jews but did not practice religion. Volodymyr had an older brother, Serhiy, who died of leukemia in childhood. Volodymyr was brought up in an atmosphere of love, tolerance, and creativity. He attended music school, where he learned to play the piano, and was a boxer. Education

Volodymyr Zelenskyy graduated with honors from Kryvyi Rih High School #95 in 1995. He was an active participant in school life, taking part in competitions, contests, festivals and performances. He was also the captain of the school KVN team “Zaporizhzhia – Kryvyi Rih – Transit”, with which he won various tournaments.

After high school, Volodymyr Zelenskyy entered the Law Faculty of the Kyiv National Economic University. He studied law, but did not plan to work in his specialty. He continued to do humor and performed in the KVN team “95th Quarter”. He also participated in student government and organized various events. He graduated from the university in 2000 with a law degree.

In 2019, Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to enter politics and run for President of Ukraine.

He headed the Servant of the People party, which was named after his own TV series in which he played the role of a teacher who became president. He promised to fight corruption, end the war in the Donbas, improve people’s lives, and bring Ukraine closer to Europe. He also used his humor and charisma to attract voters, especially young people.   • Launch of the Crimean Platform, an international cooperation format aimed at keeping the issue of de-occupation of Crimea in the attention of the international community and supporting the rights of Crimeans.
  • Signing of the Steinmeier Formula, a document that defines the mechanism for holding peaceful elections in Donbas within the framework of Ukrainian legislation and the Constitution, as well as granting special status to the region.
  • Implementation of the “All for All Exchange,” a humanitarian operation that allowed the release and return home of more than two hundred Ukrainian prisoners held in the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions or in Russia.
  • Granting the “Tomos of Autocephaly” – a document that recognizes the independence of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine from the Russian Orthodox Church and confirms its equal position among other Orthodox churches.
