Viktor Tsygankov was born in the family of football goalkeeper Vitaliy Tsygankov. After the family returned to Ukraine, he started playing football at the Niva Children’s and Youth Sports School in Vinnytsia. Viktor’s first coach was Mykola Zagoruyko. From an early age, Viktor played as a winger, but after joining Dynamo Kyiv, he started playing on the right wing of the attack.

Viktor moved to Kyiv in the 2010/11 season, playing the first half of the DUFLU championship for Niva and the second half for Dynamo, where he was invited by the selector Ivan Terletskyi. Viktor also had offers from Shakhtar Donetsk, but chose the Kyiv club.

At Dynamo Academy, Viktor worked under the guidance of such coaches as Pavlo Kikot, Andriy Biba, Yuriy Yeskin and Oleksiy Drotsenko. In the 2012/13 season, he helped his team win the bronze medal at the DUFLU U-17 finals.

After graduating from the academy, Viktor quickly joined Dynamo’s youth team. In 2014, he took part in a training camp with the main team in Austria, where he made his debut in a match against SC Schwaz and scored his first goal in a match against Skenderbeu.

2016-2017 season.

On August 14, 2016, Tsygankov made his debut for Dynamo’s first team in a Premier League match against Stal Kyiv. In September 2016, he made his debut in the Champions League in a game against Napoli, where he scored an assist. He scored his first league goal in the match against Olimpik, and his first goal in European competitions in the match against Besiktas.

2017-2018 season

The season began with his debut in the Ukrainian Super Cup. On July 29, 2017, Viktor became the youngest hat-trick scorer in Dynamo’s history, scoring three goals in a match against Karpaty. He continued to excel in the matches against Oleksandriya, Stal and Mariupol.

2018-2019 season.

This season, Viktor became the best player in the UPL in terms of goal+pass (18+11). He played 31 matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 11 assists.

2019-2020 season.

In the 2019/2020 season, Tsygankov played 39 matches for Dynamo, scoring 17 goals and making 8 assists. “Dynamo finished second in the standings but won the Ukrainian Cup, defeating Vorskla Poltava in the final.

2020-2021 season

During the season, Viktor played 37 matches, scoring 15 goals and making 6 assists, becoming Dynamo’s top scorer. Under Mircea Lucescu’s leadership, Dynamo won the Ukrainian league and the Ukrainian Cup.

2021-2022 season

This season was suspended due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Viktor played 25 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists.

“Girona

In January 2023, Viktor Tsygankov joined Spanish club Girona for a transfer fee of 5 million euros. He made his La Liga debut on February 5, 2023 in a match against Valencia. First goal for Girona Victor scored in a match against Almeria.

Career in the national team

Viktor Tsygankov was actively involved in the Ukrainian national teams of all ages. In 2012, he was the youngest player in the 16-year-old Yellow and Blue team at the Bannikov Memorial. In 2016, he made his debut for the Ukrainian national team in a match against Finland. In March 2019, he scored his first goal for the national team in a match against Luxembourg. Viktor scored a double in the match against Serbia, starting the biggest defeat for the Balkans in history.

Viktor was born in Israel, where his father played for a local soccer club. At the age of 7, he was enrolled in a soccer section in Vinnytsia. Thanks to the support and mentorship of his father, Viktor was able to develop his football skills and achieve high results in his professional career. Viktor married Romana Prokopovych on June 26, 2022. On March 23, 2023, their son was born.
