Svetlana Sotnikova
Svetlana Sotnikova is a recognized expert in the field of teaching German and the author of more than a hundred teaching materials that help learn the language easily and effectively. Her textbooks, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, have become indispensable for students and teachers, in particular due to their simple explanations and interactive approach to learning. Svitlana Ivanovna has been an associate professor at the Department of German Philology and Translation at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University for over 20 years. She defended her PhD thesis in 1997 on the study of linguistic means of comedy in German folk tales and has been actively engaged in teaching and research since then.

Svitlana Sotnykova is the author of more than 170 publications, including more than 110 educational and methodological publications. Her works have been widely recognized in the educational environment, including the series of textbooks “H@llo, Freunde!” and “Deutsch Lernen ist Super” used in Ukrainian educational institutions.
Among other achievements:

- Author of a German textbook published in Germany.
- Participation in the development of methodological materials for advanced training of German teachers in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut.
- Membership in the jury at competitions and contests.
Internships and international activities
Svitlana Ivanovna is constantly improving her skills by completing internships in Germany, in particular at the universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Freiburg. She participates in seminars and conferences organized by the Goethe-Institut and works on integrating modern teaching methods into the educational process.
Awards and recognitions
Sotnykova’s work has received numerous awards. Her textbooks have repeatedly won the All-Ukrainian Textbook Competition. In addition, the primary school edition received a gold medal at the prestigious European Best European Learning Materials Awards (BELMA), which was a historic victory for Ukraine.
