Stepan Bilyak

Stepan Bilyak was born in Zakarpattia region in the family of a famous Ukrainian surgeon, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Stepan Bilyak. Since childhood, he was surrounded by medical topics, which contributed to his early interest in surgery.

In 2003, he graduated from the Medical Faculty of Uzhhorod National University with a degree in General Medicine. After that, he completed an internship in surgery (2005), where he gained basic skills in operative surgery.

Specialization and scientific work of Stepan Bilyak

In 2005-2011, he continued his studies at the Institute of Urology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv), where he completed his clinical residency and postgraduate studies under the guidance of prominent Ukrainian urologists, including Academician O. Vozianov.

In 2011, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic:
🔬 “Substantiation of the laparoscopic method of high resection of the testicular vein in varicocele”.

This work was an important step in the introduction of minimally invasive techniques in Ukrainian medicine.

Professional development

• 2013 – specialization in oncological surgery (National Cancer Institute, Kyiv).
• 2014 – specialization in gynecology.
• Internship in Germany (University Clinic of Mainz) at the Center for Oncourology under the guidance of Prof. John Turoff, where he mastered
  • radical bladder removal in case of cancer,
  • reconstructive surgery to form a new bladder from the intestine.

Stepan Bilyak’s medical practice

After returning to Zakarpattia in 2011, he started working at the Bilyak Clinic (Mynai village), which was founded by his father. Today, Stepan Stepanovych is the head physician of the clinic, where he performs:
✔ Laparoscopic surgery (surgery, urology, gynecology).
✔ Oncological surgery (including bladder, kidney, and genital cancer).

✔ Varicose veins sclerotherapy (a unique technique developed in the clinic).

Scientific and social activities

• Author of scientific publications in national and international journals.
• Participant in conferences on minimally invasive surgery (Ukraine, Europe).
• Together with his father, he organized the medical and religious project Church and Medicine.
