Childhood and family

Oleksandr Povorozniuk was born into a peasant family. His father, Hryhorii Povorozniuk, was a collective farmer, and his mother, Mariia Povorozniuk, was a housewife. The family had two other children: an older brother, Volodymyr, and a younger sister, Olena. Since childhood, Oleksandr showed an interest in agriculture and football. He helped his father on the field and played ball with his friends in his free time.

Later, he continued his education at two faculties of the Kirovograd Institute of Agricultural Engineering (now Kirovograd National Technical University), where he received a degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in administrative management.

Oleksandr Povorozniuk’s career began as a driver at Silgoskhimiya, where he transported diesel fuel for agricultural needs. He then became a supplier at a collective farm, which he later headed. He expanded production, introduced new technologies, and attracted investments and partners. In 2000, he established his own farm, AVIL, which specialized in growing grains, oilseeds, industrial and fodder crops. Since then, he has founded and chaired many different businesses, organizations and foundations related to the agricultural sector. Among them: Agrofirma Pyatikhatska LLC, Pulse of the People LLC, Charitable Foundation “With People and for People”, Agro-Papa Farm and others. He is also a member and chairman of various associations, councils and committees dealing with issues of agricultural development, land relations, ecology, social justice and others. Oleksandr Povorozniuk is one of the largest landowners in Ukraine, with his agricultural company cultivating more than 12 thousand hectares of land.

In addition to farming, Oleksandr Povorozniuk is a keen football player. In 2009-2010, he was the president of Desna Football Club (Chernihiv), which he supported financially and organizationally. In 2013, he founded FC Agrofirma Pyatikhatska, which changed its name to Ingulets in 2015. This club became the first in the history of Ukrainian football to reach the final of the Ukrainian Cup from the second highest division. Oleksandr Povorozniuk built a training base for his club in Volodymyrivka village, which consists of a residential building and training fields with artificial and natural turf. He also opened the Ingulets stadium in the same village, which has a capacity of 2,000 spectators. Oleksandr Povorozniuk is not only the president, but also the main sponsor and patron of FC Ingulets.
