DOMIY: Biography of a young Ukrainian singer and songwriter

DOMIY, whose real name is Maria Dovhayuk, comes from a small village on the border of Rivne and Volyn. Her musical journey began in early childhood thanks to her mother, who was also a musician and raised her daughter in an atmosphere of love for song. Maria started singing at a very young age, and this passion for music became an integral part of her life.

In order to develop her talent, she moved to Kyiv, where she received a professional music education at the Reinhold Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music. This qualified her as a vocal teacher and laid a solid foundation for her future career.

She made her debut in 2020 with a cover of the song “Hugs” by Okean Elzy, which attracted the attention of listeners and became the starting point of her career. Subsequently, DOMIY started writing her own songs, which further strengthened her position in the Ukrainian music industry.

One of her most successful songs was “Remind Me,” which gained immense popularity. The music video for this song has garnered more than 12 million views on YouTube and has been ranked first in music charts, including No. 1 in the Top 100 music videos on YouTube, No. 5 in the Top 100 Apple Music in Ukraine, and No. 2 in the Top 10 on Lux FM.

DOMIY also actively uses social media to popularize its work. Thanks to videos on TikTok, her covers have gone viral, which has helped to increase the number of subscribers. She already has more than 120 thousand followers on the platform, and her Instagram is also popular with fans.

The peculiarity of DOMIY’s creative path is that she deliberately refused to work with major music labels. She wants to remain independent and continues to achieve success on her own.

Maria Dovgyuk always emphasizes the importance of supporting Ukrainian music and encourages listeners to choose Ukrainian cultural products. She hopes to continue to promote national music and stay true to her unique style.

Although the singer’s personal life remains in the shadows, DOMIY always emphasizes that her heart is in her work and music projects that continue to captivate listeners across Ukraine.
