At the age of six, he started studying football at the Karpaty school, where Mykola Dudarenko recognized his talent as a forward and put him in the position of a striker. In 2007, when Roman was 11 years old, he moved to the academy of Dynamo Kyiv. For the last three years of his studies, he worked under the guidance of Oleksiy Drotsenko.

Education and youth career

On September 6, 2008, Yaremchuk made his Dynamo debut in the DUFL in a match against Chernihiv’s Yunist and immediately scored a double. During his debut season in the DUFL, Roman scored 10 goals in 21 matches for the White and Blues. The following season he repeated this figure (again 10 goals in 21 matches), and in the 2010/2011 season he improved his performance, scoring 12 goals in 17 matches. The 2011/2012 season was a real breakthrough for the talented forward, where he scored an average of a goal per game.

Professional career

Roman began his professional career in the junior ranks of Dynamo Kyiv. Thanks to his performances in the youth teams, he attracted the attention of the Dynamo coaching staff. Before he graduated from the Academy, he got a chance to go on a training camp with Dynamo-2. After a successful period in Ukraine, he moved to Belgian club Club Brugge, where he demonstrated his skills as a striker, scoring important goals and helping the team achieve high results. Subsequently, he had the opportunity to play for Valencia, which was another step in his professional development.

Achievements

Roman Yaremchuk made his debut for the Ukrainian national team on September 6, 2018, in a match against the Czech Republic (Ukraine won 2-1). Since then, he has played 50 matches for the national team, scoring 15 goals (2018-2024). He took part in the Euro 2020 final tournament (5 matches, 2 goals), Euro 2020 qualifiers (7 matches, 4 goals), the 2022 World Cup (10 matches, 4 goals) and Euro 2024 (6 matches, 1 goal). He also showed a high level of play in the UEFA Nations League: in 2019 (3 matches), 2021 (5 matches, 1 goal) and 2023 (4 matches).

He played 9 matches in the youth national team of Ukraine, scoring 2 goals (2014-2016), and 30 matches in the youth national teams of Ukraine, scoring 3 goals (2012-2015).
